Contrived Languages

Communication is an essential problem for humanity. Many ambitious projects to construct languages have arisen as a result. These projects arise for a variety of reasons and tend to be especially common in Europe, where many different languages are spoken within a relatively small area. Others point out that even those of us who speak the same language often have difficulty communicating effectively (let's not bring up Wittgenstein or Derrida in this department, though).
