The foot as a medium for paint is fascinating to me for a variety of reasons. The bottom of the foot is a part of the body we seldom see...even if someone is nude, but standing, the bottoms of her feet are still hidden. Feet have interesting curves and shapes that not only add to the aesthetic, but also force the painter to create an image or design to fit the unusual shape. The best part, however, is that the end result cannot really be a part of any sort of permanent display. Like building a sandcastle, or an ice sculpture, the display is only temporary. The photographs below, though interesting, are only images of the original work...a work which no longer exists. | |
